When a foreigner comes to Spain with a tourist permit, he or she has a period of three months to be able to be here. After this time, the foreigner will be in an irregular situation. To do so, you must follow certain procedures to legalize yourself.

The immigration law gives us 4 options:
OPTION 1
Residence by roots.
Have an employment contract for 40 hours a week, and a duration of more than one year or have two contracts totaling 30 hours a week with the same duration. In addition to having been in Spain for 3 years to be able to legalize yourself.
OPTION 2
Not having a job but depending on a family member financially and who has legal residence in Spain. In addition to having been in Spain for 3 years with an irregular situation and registered.
OPTION 3
This option can be tried if you do not have a job but have sufficient financial means and have taken courses that favor integration in Spain.
In order to legalize you we would have to have a social integration report and pass an interview.
With this, what is intended is that the foreigner is integrated into society even if he does not have a job, if he has the financial means to maintain himself in Spain. This must be credited with constant income in a bank account.
For this, the requirement of residence in Spain for three years prior to the application must be met.
OPTION 4
This option is based on humanitarian reasons.
It is the case that returning to your country puts the safety of the foreigner or his or her family at risk.
In this case, it is not necessary to comply with the three-year period of prior residence; this option must be accompanied by an active job search to be able to apply for a residence and work permit and then renew it.
In all cases you cannot have a criminal or police record.
