Have you suffered a fall on the street?

Have you suffered a fall on the street?

The number of falls on public roads has increased due to the crisis we have suffered in recent years, the public administration does not repair or adequately maintain the streets, which are in a sad state of wear and tear and abandonment.

Due to this, it happens daily and with increasing frequency that citizens suffer falls in the street as a result of the poor condition of the tiles, pavement, grates or damaged sewers. This situation generates legal and economic responsibilities that the public administration must assume before the citizen.

This obligation is supported because the administration is obliged to keep the street furniture in perfect condition and is obliged to repair the furniture and pay compensation for the damage caused by the fall.

The obligation is supported in accordance with the provisions of article 139 of Law 30/1992 of November 26, on the Legal Regime of Public Administrations and Administrative Procedure.

Steps to follow after a fall on public roads:

-If there is someone who has witnessed the fall, ask them for help and their information to testify if necessary.

-Notify the Police and request that they prepare a report. (It will be very important to claim compensation).

-Go to a medical center to have the affected area explored. Do not leave it for the next day, it is important that it be on the same day, since otherwise it could make it difficult to relate the injury to the fall.
